The “Waiting” series is based on a symbol that captured Marie-Noëlle Fattal's attention: that of the empty chair. She can be found all over town, alone, waiting for a moment or a conversation, broken or forgotten. Here, these chairs, always neglected, represent a lot of things in the eyes of the artist, well beyond the usual, they are also for her the symbol of "the empty chairs of a stateless country".
